He studied at Wittenberg, was in 1643 con-rector at Zittau, and in 1639 rector. He died January 13, 1662. Of his many hymns some have been translated into English, as: Meinen Jesum lass ich nicht (&#8220;Jesus will I never leave,&#8221; in the Moravian Hymn-book, No. 392):  Freuet euch ihr Christen alle.
