In Ezr. the gloss is added which is Kelita (in 1 Es. who was called Calitas). Kelita appears in Neh 8:7 as one of the Levites who assisted Ezra in expounding the Law (cf. 1Es 9:48 Calitas), and his name occurs amongst the signatories to the covenant (Neh 10:10). It does not follow, however, that because Kelaiah was also called Kelita he is to be identified with this Kelita.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: Hastings&#8217; Dictionary of the Bible<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<h2>Kelaiah<\/h2>\n<p>ke-laya, ke-la (, kelayah, swift for Yah[?]; , Kolos; Codex Vaticanus, , Konos): One of the priests who had foreign wives (Ezr 10:23, also Kelita). In parallel list of 1 Esdras 9:23, he again has a double name &#8211; Colius and Calitas. A Kelita is named as helping Ezra at the expounding of the law (Neh 8:7; compare 1 Esdras 9:48, Calitas), and also among the signatories of the covenant (Neh 10:9; for nature of covenant see Neh 10:28 ff).
