Two years later he entered the ministry, and settled at Waiblingen until 1832, when he removed to Marburg as professor of theology. In 1840 he was appointed to and accepted a like position at Bonn University, which he held until 1847; then became preacher at Ebersbach, in Wurtemberg; later deacon at Marbach, and died in 1861. Kling was a ready writer, and contributed largely to the different German periodicals; he was one of the ablest assistants on the Theologische Studien und Kritiken. He edited J. F. von Flatt&#8217;s Vorlesungen uber die Pastoral Briefe (1831), and contributed a Commentary to the Corinthians to Lange&#8217;s Bibelwerk (translated by Daniel W. Poor, D.D., Scribner&#8217;s edit.
