The daughter of the count of Luxemburg, she married Henry in 999. They founded and endowed the See of Bamberg, 1017. After Henry&#8217;s death, 1025, she retired to the convent of Kaufungen which she had founded. She is represented holding her cloak to the sun&#8217;s rays, and walking with bare feet over red-hot irons. Canonized, 1200.
