He was educated at the University of Konigsberg, and became a professor of theology and Oriental languages at that high school in 1829. He died Feb. 3, 1855. His most important works are, De Ephraemi Syri arte hermeneutica liber (1831.):  Das Buch Daniel (1835):  Kenaan, Volks und Religionsgesch.
