Born in Paris, France in 1820; died there in 1881. Of distinguished family, he left the diplomatic service to enter the priesthood and devoted himself to the poor of Paris. For four years he was auditor of the Rota at Rome; he then lost his eyesight and returned to Paris. The honors of the episcopate were conferred upon him without the title.
