His talents were ordinary, and he deserves little notice, except for his studious disposition and slowness of execution. He was employed by Sixtus V in several considerable works, and whenever requested by the director to hasten operations, he always answered &#8220;poco e buono&#8221; (little and good), which expression gained him his surname.
