O. von HORN), a German author, was born at Horn, near Simmern, Aug. 15, 1798. He was the son of a clergyman; studied theology at Heidelberg; was in the charge of a parish at Mannebach from 1820 to 1835, was ecclesiastical superintendent at Sobernheim from 1835 to 1863, and subsequently resided at Wiesbaden. He died Oct. 14, 1867.
