See APPREHEND, No. 1. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to anticipate&#8221; (pro, &#8220;before,&#8221; lambano, &#8220;to take&#8221;), is used of the act of Mary, in <span class='bible'>Mar 14:8<\/span> [see COME, Note (2)]; of forestalling the less favored at a social meal, <span class='bible'>1Co 11:21<\/span>; of being &#8220;overtaken&#8221; in any trespass, <span class='bible'>Gal 6:1<\/span>, where the meaning is not that of detecting a person in the act, but of his being caught by the trespass, through his being off his guard (see <span class='bible'>Gal 5:21<\/span> and contrast the premediated practice of evil in <span class='bible'>Gal 5:26<\/span>).
