After taking holy orders he was successively canon of Mallchester, rural dean, and the principal of St. Bee&#8217;s College. He died in 1858. He published Sermons on Points of Doctrine and Rules of Duty (1820,2 vols. 12mo):  Rationalism and Revelation (Hulsean Lectures for 1837):  The Constitution of the Visible Church of Christ considered (Hulsean Lectures for 1838):  Sermons on  Transubstantiation and Invocation (1841, 12mo); and miscellaneous works.
