He took holy orders, and was ordained deacon in 1848; in the year following became assistant curate of St. Chad&#8217;s, Shrewsbury; in 1855 chaplain in the Bengal Presidency. During the great Sepoy rebellion he was shot through the body in the insurrection at Lucknow and died July 20, 1857.
