We meet with the verb in Psa 51:13, &#8216;Then will I teach transgressors thy ways, and sinners shall be converted unto thee;&#8217; Pro 28:21, &#8216; for a piece of bread a man will transgress&#8217; (i.e. rebel); Isa 43:27, &#8216;Thy teachers have transgressed against me.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Pasha is rendered sin in Pro 10:12, &#8216;Love covereth all sins,&#8217; where the contrast between the offence and the mercy is brought out very clearly by the use of the word; again it is found in verse 19, &#8216; in the multitude of words there wanteth not sin;&#8217; 28:13, &#8216;He that covereth his sins shall not prosper.&#8217; It is rendered trespass in Gen 31:36; Gen 50:17; Exo 22:9; 1Sa 25:28; and Hos 8:1, &#8216;They have trespassed against my law.&#8217; in 2Ki 8:20; 2Ki 8:22, it is used in its primary sense of the revolt of Edom and Libnah; in 1Ki 12:19, of the &#8216;rebellion&#8217; of Israel against Judah; so also in other passages.
