Cp. <span class='bible'>Gen 30:1<\/span>; <span class='bible'>1Sa 1:6-10<\/span>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;dishonor,&#8221; is translated &#8220;reproach&#8221; in <span class='bible'>2Co 11:21<\/span>, AV (RV, &#8220;disparagement&#8221;). The word is much stronger than &#8220;to reproach;&#8221; the significance is &#8220;Thou insultest (even us),&#8221; i.e., who are superior to ordinary Pharisees. The lawyer&#8217;s imputation was unjust; Christ&#8217;s rebuke was not hubris, &#8220;insult.&#8221; What He actually said was by way of &#8220;reproach&#8221; (oneidizo).
