The subjective use is that in which something is presented to the mind directly, as, (a) the meaning of the acts of God, <span class='bible'>Mat 11:25<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Luk 10:21<\/span>; (b) the secret of the Person of the Lord Jesus, <span class='bible'>Mat 16:17<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Joh 12:38<\/span>; (c) the character of God as Father, <span class='bible'>Mat 11:27<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Luk 10:22<\/span>; (d) the will of God for the conduct of His children, <span class='bible'>Phi 3:15<\/span>; (e) the mind of God to the prophets of Israel, <span class='bible'>1Pe 1:12<\/span>, and of the Church, <span class='bible'>1Co 14:30<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Eph 3:5<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p> &#8220;The objective use is that in which something is presented to the senses, sight or hearing, as, referring to the past, (f) the truth declared to men in the gospel, <span class='bible'>Rom 1:17<\/span>; <span class='bible'>1Co 2:10<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Gal 3:23<\/span>; (g) the Person of Christ to Paul on the way to Damascus, <span class='bible'>Gal 1:16<\/span>; (h) thoughts before hidden in the heart, <span class='bible'>Luk 2:35<\/span>; referring to the future, (i) the coming in glory of the Lord Jesus, <span class='bible'>Luk 17:30<\/span>; (j) the salvation and glory that await the believer, <span class='bible'>Rom 8:18<\/span>; <span class='bible'>1Pe 1:5<\/span>; <span class='bible'>1Pe 5:1<\/span>; (k) the true value of service, <span class='bible'>1Co 3:13<\/span>; (l) the wrath of God (at the Cross, against sin, and, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus, against the sinner), <span class='bible'>Rom 1:18<\/span>; (m) the Lawless One, <span class='bible'>2Th 2:3<\/span>, <span class='bible'>2Th 2:6<\/span>, <span class='bible'>2Th 2:8<\/span>.&#8221; * [* From Notes on Galatians, by Hogg and Vine, pp. 41,42.] <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to give Divine admonition, instruction, revelation,&#8221; is translated &#8220;it had been revealed,&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Luk 2:26<\/span>.
