It was exercised by the Son of God, as from, and in conjunction with, the Father when the Lord was upon earth, in the days of His flesh, <span class='bible'>Mat 9:6<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Joh 10:18<\/span>, as well as in resurrection, <span class='bible'>Mat 28:18<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Joh 17:2<\/span>. All others hold their freedom to act from God (though some of them have abused it), whether angels, <span class='bible'>Eph 1:21<\/span>, or human potentates, <span class='bible'>Rom 13:1<\/span>. Satan offered to delegate his authority over earthly kingdoms to Christ, <span class='bible'>Luk 4:6<\/span>, who, though conscious of His &#8220;right&#8221; to it, refused, awaiting the Divinely appointed time. See AUTHORITY, No. 1, and for various synonyms see DOMINION, No. 1, Note. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;just, righteous, that which is in accordance with&#8221; dike, &#8220;rule, right, justice,&#8221; is translated &#8220;right&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Mat 20:4<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Mat 20:7<\/span>, AV only (RV omits, according to the most authentic mss. the clause having been inserted from verse 4, to the detriment of the narrative); <span class='bible'>Luk 12:57<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Act 4:19<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Eph 6:1<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Phi 1:7<\/span>, RV (AV, &#8220;meet&#8221;); <span class='bible'>2Pe 1:13<\/span> (AV, &#8220;meet&#8221;).
