He became an Oratorian at Rome in 1618. After the death of cardinal Baronius (who was also a member of the Congregation of the Oratory), Rinaldi wrote a continuation of his Ecclesiastical Annals from 1198 (where the former left off) to 1564, when the Council of Trent was dissolved. Rinaldi&#8217;s addition to the work consists of ten large folio volumes, published at different periods from 1646 to 1677.
