For a time he preached in the University Church at Leipsic; then at Wichlinghausen, in Westphalia; and finally he was pastor at Elberfeld, where he died in 1861. Besides a great many Sermons, he published, Der Kampf der evangelischen Kirche mit dem Rationalismus (Barmen, 1830):  Theologisches Gutachten ber die Predigerbibel des Ed. Hlsmann (ibid. 1836):  Der Romanismus, seine Tendenzen u. seine Methodik (Essen, 1843):  Das Papstthum in seiner heutigen Gestalt, etc. (Elberfeld, 1846):  Die Abendmahlsgemeinschaft zwischen Lutherischen u.
