The idea conveyed is that of setting apart (Lev 20:26 the King James Version) or of setting someone or something apart in a miraculous way (Exo 8:22; Exo 9:4 the King James Version, the English Revised Version), or, again, of simple separation on one&#8217;s own volition (Jdg 4:11 the King James Version, the English Revised Version). The Greek word , aphorzo (Mat 13:49) stands for final judicial segregation.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: International Standard Bible Encyclopedia<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<h2>Sever<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p> lit., &#8220;to reduce to inactivity&#8221; (see ABOLISH, where all the ocurrences are given), is rendered &#8220;ye are severed (from Christ)&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Gal 5:4<\/span>, RV; the aorist tense indicates that point of time at which there was an acceptance of the Judaistic doctrines; to those who accepted these Christ would be of no profit, they were as branches severed from the tree. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to separate from,&#8221; is used of the work of the angels at the end of this age, in &#8220;severing&#8221; the wicked from among the righteous, <span class='bible'>Mat 13:49<\/span>, a premillennial act quite distinct from the rapture of the Church as set forth in 1 Thess. 4.
