Hitzig (Philist. p. 172) regards it as identical with Mount Halak (Jos 11:16); but the latter appears to have lain farther northeast. It is, perhaps, the present Araif en-Nakah, about in the middle of the upper portion of the plateau Et-Tih. SEE EXODE.
