She was the fourth child of Saint Bridget  and Ulf Gudmarsson, was educated at the convent of Riseberg, and at the age of 13 was married to a German  nobleman, Eggart von Kurnen, with whom she lived in continency. She accompanied her mother to Rome, 1349 , was with her in her last illness, and in 1374  brought back her body to Vadstena, of which foundation she now became head. From 1375 -1380  she was again in Rome promoting her mother&#8217;s canonization  and in 1379  obtained the confirmation of the Brigittine  or Salvatorian Order . Emblems : a hind, lily, pilgrim&#8217;s costume, cross, and church in hand. Canonized , 1484 .
