is the expression of joy Godward, and is therefore the fruit of the Spirit (<span class='bible'>Gal 5:22<\/span>); believers are encouraged to abound in it (e.g., <span class='bible'>Col 2:7<\/span>, and see C, below). <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> in the Middle Voice, signifies &#8220;to make acknowledgement,&#8221; whether of sins (to confess), or in the honor of a person, as in <span class='bible'>Rom 14:11<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Rom 15:9<\/span> (in some mss. in <span class='bible'>Rev 3:5<\/span>); this is the significance in the Lord&#8217;s address to the Father, &#8220;I thank (Thee),&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Mat 11:25<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Luk 10:21<\/span>, the meaning being &#8220;I make thankful confession&#8221; or &#8220;I make acknowledgment with praise.&#8221; See CONFESS, No. 2, CONSENT, PROMISE. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to acknowledge fully, to celebrate fully (anti) in praise with thanksgiving,&#8221; is used of Anna in <span class='bible'>Luk 2:38<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p> Note: For homologeo, rendered &#8220;giving thanks&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Heb 13:15<\/span> (RV, &#8220;make confession&#8221;), See CONFESS, A, No. 1 (d). <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> primarily, &#8220;gracious, agreeable&#8221;
