Ordained  in 1814 . He did parochial work in Kilkenny, Irleand  for one year, and in Cork, Ireland  for 24 years. In 1828  he was appointed Capuchin provincial for Ireland . In 1838 , in order to combat the widespread drunkenness in Ireland , he inaugurated the temperance movement which has become historic.
