This word, Asuppe, appears to be inaccurately rendered in Neh 12:25, though its real force has, perhaps, not yet been discovered. The &#8220;house of Asuppim,&#8221; or simply &#8220;the Asuppim,&#8221; is mentioned in 1Ch 26:15; 1Ch 26:17, as a part, probably a gate of the enclosure of the &#8220;house of Jehovah,&#8221; apparently at its southwest corner. The allusion in Neh 12:29, is undoubtedly to the same place.
