He graduated at Yale College in 1808; studied theology with Rev. David Smith of Durham, Conn.; commenced preaching at Durham, N. Y.; and was ordained over the Church in Ledyard, Conn., in 1811. Here he labored until his death, June 6, 1864. Mr. Tuttle was plain in appearance and- manners, yet a man of godly sincerity and of considerable influence. He was an instructive preacher. See Cong.
