He immigrated to the United States in 1843; was the official reporter of the General Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1844, and published the debates; was editor of the Columbia Magazine (N. Y.) from 1846 to 1849; coeditor of the N. Y. Commercial Advertiser in 1845, and editor-in-chief in 1850. He was the author of, Sketches of Wesleyan Preachers (N.Y. 1848).  A Father&#8217;s Letter to his Daughter (1865).
