They had been reduced to a very small number, but these had ordained Zanzalus bishop of Edessa,&#8217;and by his zeal and unceasing toil he left the sect, at his death in A.D. 588, in a flourishing condition in Syria, Mesopotamia, Armenia, Egypt, and other countries.
