In 1798 he was appointed pastor of St. Peter’s, in his native place, and advanced in 1803 as general superintendent of the duchy of Blankenburg. In 1819 he was appointed abbot of Michaelstein, and died January 12, 1824. Ziegenbein’s writings are mostly of a pedagogical nature.
