Containing the city where he met Samuel, not far from Rachel&#8217;s tomb, a little N. of Bethlehem. Zuph was one of Samuel&#8217;s ancestors (1Sa 1:1; 1Ch 6:35). Soba is the only name like it, seven miles W. of Jerusalem, and five S.W. of neby Samwil.
