To get acquainted with God is one thing; but to go on to experience God in intensity and richness of acquaintance is something more. Paul said, \u201cI want to know Him in that depth and rich intensity of experience.\u201d As I have said many times, personality can\u2019t be fully known with one encounter. You may meet some people you don\u2019t particularly like at first. After you get to know them, you get to like them because you find the hidden potential in their personality that you didn\u2019t know were [sic] there. Christ is capable of increasing intimacy of acquaintance.<\/p>\n
If I have anything to say to the Church of Christ in general it is this: that our great weakness is that not only are we not going on to know Christ in rich intimacy of acquaintance but we\u2019re not even talking about it. We don\u2019t even hear about it. It doesn\u2019t get into our magazines. It doesn\u2019t get into our books. It doesn\u2019t get onto our radios. It\u2019s not found in our churches\u2014this yearning, this longing to know Him in increasing measure.<\/p>\n
