But there are matters which are obviously \u201ctoo high for us.\u201d These we should meet in trusting faith and say as Jesus said, \u201cEven so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Human curiosity and pride often combine to drive us to try to understand acts of God which are plainly outside the field of human understanding. We dislike to admit that we do not know what is going on, so we torture our minds trying to fathom the mysterious ways of the Omniscient One. It\u2019s hard to conceive of a more fruitless task.\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Under such circumstances the Christian thing to do is to say, \u201cThat thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest \u2026 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.\u201d A blind confidence which trusts without seeing is far dearer to God than any fancied knowledge that can explain everything.\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>To the adoring heart, the best and most satisfying explanation for anything always will be, \u201cIt seemed good in thy sight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>1 Samuel 3:18; Job 2:10; Psalm 51:3\u20134; Matthew 11:26; Romans 11:33\u201336; 1 Corinthians 2:12\u201316<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'><i>The Next Chapter After the Last,<\/i> 57, 58.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A determination to know what cannot be known always works harm to the Christian heart.
