One day, a man came out of the building, plunked down a quarter, and then went on his way without taking a pretzel. This happened every day for three weeks. Finally, the old lady running the stand spoke up: \u201cSir, excuse me. May I have a word with you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>The fellow said: \u201cI know what you\u2019re going to say. You\u2019re going to ask me why I give you a quarter every day and don\u2019t take a pretzel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>And the woman said, \u201cNot at all, I just want to tell you that the price is now 35 cents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=right style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:right; line-height:normal'>(From a speech by William Schreyer, chairman of Merrill Lynch)<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;line-height:normal'><b>Eight   <\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>1. Know the difference between success and fame. Success is Mother Teresa. Fame is Madonna.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>6. Never be in a hurry to terminate a marriage. Remember, you may need this man-woman someday to finish a sentence.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>7. There are no guarantees in marriage. Never go to a class reunion pregnant.
