When God gave the kingdom to His people, the focus of the kingdom, humanly speaking, was the human king. He was to hearken to the word of the High King, a word mediated through the Lord\u2019s prophets. If a king disobeyed, God responded accordingly, bringing discipline into his life or removing him from the throne altogether.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>The best-known example of a king\u2019s fall into sin was David\u2019s sin with Bathsheba. In light of this, in addition to studying the lives of David and Solomon this month (studies taken from R. C.\u2019s teaching, supplemented by other Reformed scholars), we will spend several days examining the doctrine of sin from R. C.\u2019s series on this subject. We can learn both positive and negative examples from biblical leaders.
