The different titles given to Christ in the Bible may well be classified under three heads,\u2014his Shepherd names, his King names, and his Father names. The first class may well be symbolized by a shepherd\u2019s crook drawn upon the board; the second class, by a crown; and the third, by a heart. The first names may be written alongside the crook at right angles to it; the second, radiating from the projections of the crown; and the third, inside the heart.<\/p>\n
As an illustration of the shepherd names,\u2014those which have to do with Christ\u2019s loving care of his children,\u2014take Advocate, Job 2:1; Deliverer, Acts 7:35; High Priest, Hebrews 5:1; the true Light, John 1:8\u20139; Mediator, I Timothy 2:5; good Shepherd, John 10:11; great Shepherd of the sheep, Hebrews 13:20.<\/p>\n
As examples of the King names, take Alpha and Omega, Revelation 1:8; Corner Stone, I Peter 2:5; Governor, Matthew 2:6; Holy One, Luke 4:34; King everlasting, Luke 1:33; King of Israel, John 1:49; King of the Jews, Matthew 2:4; King of kings, Revelation 17:14; Lion of the tribe of Judah, Revelation 5:5; Lord, Matthew 3:3; Lord of glory, I Corinthians 2:8; Lord of lords, Revelation 17:14; Prince, Acts 5:3; Prince of life, Acts 3:15; Prince of peace, Isaiah 9:6; Root of David, Revelation 5:5; Ruler, Micah 5:2; Son of David, Matthew 9:27.<\/p>\n
