You have, each one of you, a little red-coated soldier. He lives in a little red cave, fenced in with two rows of ivory pickets. You know who this little soldier is. We call him Sir Tongue.<\/p>\n
Now Sir Tongue ought to be a soldier in God\u2019s army. Is he? Sometimes he is, sometimes he is not; but he should be always. <\/p>\n
Whenever anybody swears, or lies about any one else, or uses harsh and unkind words, or sneers at God\u2019s people, this little red-coated soldier should step forth, ready and eager to do what he can for his Master.<\/p>\n
Why doesn\u2019t he always? Well, there are several enemies that this brave-looking soldier is often afraid to face. One is named \u201cIt\u2019s none of your business.\u201d When \u201cIt\u2019s none of your business\u201d draws his sword, it\u2019s pitiful to see how quickly Sir Tongue flies back into his red cave. It is his business, just the same, and he knows it.<\/p>\n
Another of Sir Tongue\u2019s enemies is \u201cO what a goody goody!\u201d Sir Tongue knows that he isn\u2019t a \u201cgoody goody,\u201d and doesn\u2019t think he acts like one; but yet, just as soon as \u201cO what a goody goody! \u201c flies at him, he retreats back of his ivory fences.<\/p>\n
A third enemy is called Major Sneer. Sir Tongue knows that Major Sneer, for all his bluster, is a coward, and yet Major Sneer can often put him to flight.<\/p>\n
Still a fourth enemy is General Laugh. General Laugh has a big title, and his uniform glistens in the sun, but there isn\u2019t anything to him. If you touch him, he bursts like a bubble. And yet how afraid of him Sir Tongue is, to be sure!<\/p>\n
O boys and girls, teach Sir Tongue that if he has God on his side, he need never be afraid to speak! And God is always on his side when he is trying to speak for Him. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
