I looked upon a farm one day,<\/p>\n
that once I used to own;<\/p>\n
the barn had fallen to the ground,<\/p>\n
the fields were overgrown.<\/p>\n
The house in which my children grew,<\/p>\n
where we had lived for years \u2026<\/p>\n
I turned to see it broked down,<\/p>\n
and brushed aside the tears.<\/p>\n
I looked upon my soul one day to find it too had grown,<\/p>\n
with thorns and nettles everywhere,<\/p>\n
the seeds neglect had sown.<\/p>\n
The years had passed<\/p>\n
while I had cared for things of lesser worth.<\/p>\n
The things of heaven I let go<\/p>\n
while minding things of earth.<\/p>\n
To Christ I turned with bitter tears and cried,<\/p>\n
\u201cO Lord, forgive!\u201d<\/p>\n
I have not much time left for Thee,<\/p>\n
not many years to live.<\/p>\n
The wasted years forever gone,<\/p>\n
the days I can\u2019t recall.<\/p>\n
If I could live those days again,<\/p>\n
