He took them just as they were. So it is with God\u2019s love for us. He loves us as we are, and it is his love that motivates us to trust and obey him in return.580<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>The love of God is like the Amazon River flowing down to water one daisy.581<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>I asked Jesus how much he loved me. He stretched out his arms and said, \u201cThis much\u201d\u2014and died.582<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>A father was tucking in his six-year-old son for the night. The father asked him, \u201cSon, when does Daddy love you the most? When you\u2019ve been fighting with your sister and getting into a lot of trouble? Or when you\u2019ve been real helpful to Mommy and real nice to everyone?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>The son thought for a moment and then said, \u201cBoth times!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>\u201cRight,\u201d the father said, \u201cand do you know why?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>\u201cCause I\u2019m your special guy,\u201d replied the boy. For that was his daddy\u2019s pet name for him, \u201cDaddy\u2019s Special Guy.\u201d The boy knew his father loved him, no matter what, because he was \u201cDaddy\u2019s Special Guy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>God loves us the same way. He loves us unconditionally because we are his \u201cspecial guys.\u201d583<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>On the whole, God\u2019s love for us is a much safer subject to think about than our love for him\u201d (C. S.
