Nobody can ruin your day or your week unless you let them. Truthfully, one bad day doesn\u2019t undo all the good days. Think about it. In baseball, an all-star batter may only get a hit one out of three times at bat. Those two misses don\u2019t negate the hit. A.333 batting average is excellent.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Likewise, six great days of sharing, intimacy, growth and progress in marriage should never be negated by one bad day of setbacks or difficulties.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>So what if you fail every so often? So what if you or your spouse takes a step back after three or four steps forward? All is not lost. It\u2019s only a hiccup not a heart attack!<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>My wife, Judi, is a nurse. She often helps people through relational crises by putting things in perspective. She\u2019ll say, \u201cWell, is it life or death? If it\u2019s not life-threatening, you\u2019ll survive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Stop making every molehill into a mountain. Don\u2019t escalate a problem into a crisis. After all, life is problem-solving. Get used to valleys and stop expecting continuous mountaintops.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Try this: The next time you or your spouse make a mistake, say, \u201cRemember the last great thing you did? It was_______. It far outweighs this small problem.
