Everything there is so heavy. My mate is just waiting for me to listen to all the day\u2019s burdens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>It\u2019s irrational to believe that we must be upset by the problems of others. Being a burden bearer doesn\u2019t mean feeling upset about your spouse\u2019s burdens. Rather, bearing burdens involves helping a mate take those cares and problems to the Lord. How does that happen? We bear each other\u2019s burdens by \u2026 Debriefing each other, not dumping on one another.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>Listening without trying to diagnosis or fix the burden.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>Caring with empathy instead of sympathy.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>Responding with joy and faith instead of despair and doubt.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>Focusing our attention on the problem-solver, Jesus, instead of the problem<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>Praying together.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>Crying and laughing together.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>Validating one another\u2019s feelings.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'>Comforting one another.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Try this: After sharing burdens, take them in prayer to Jesus and releasing them instead of dwelling on them.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'><i>Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=right style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt; text-align:right;line-height:normal'>1 Thess. 5:11<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One spouse confessed, \u201cI hate going home at the end of my work day.
