\u201cW<\/b>e\u2019ll never get all these credit cards paid off,\u201d moaned a distressed spouse. Yes, you can and must. Some financial counselors advise no debt whatsoever, including mortgages. But it\u2019s impossible to get to that utopia without first destroying credit card debt.<\/p>\n
Decide to cut up your cards and close the accounts. Begin to live within your income, not outside of it. What\u2019s more important is to get the debt out of you. Stop impulse buying. Refuse the temptation to get what you want when you want it. Instead, plan your purchases and save for them.<\/p>\n
Getting the debt out of you also involves releasing a victim or a poverty mentality. You are not poor. You have a rich God who blesses you with abundance both materially and spiritually. But you will never break free of a poverty mentality until you see yourself rich in Christ Jesus. Getting the debt out of you can begin with becoming a giver. Decide to tithe and give offerings. Become a giver instead of a hoarder. Without sowing, you will never have a future harvest that will prosper both you and your children.<\/p>\n
Try this: Choose a credit card to pay off and do it as soon as possible. Cut it up and close the account. Take the money your were paying on that card and apply it to the next. Pay if off. Keep the cycle going until you get out of debt. Start tithing and giving to God. Become a cheerful giver.<\/p>\n
So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.<\/i><\/p>\n
