\u2022 Children have participated in both setting the rules and determining ahead of time the consequences.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Trying to make immediate decisions about correction and consequences.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Responding to our emotions instead of our child\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Attempting to make quick decisions instead of implementing prior decisions.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Allowing our child to control and manipulate us under stress instead of letting God take control of an already anticipated possibility.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Fornicate?<\/p>\n
\u2022 Become pregnant?<\/p>\n
\u2022 Get arrested?<\/p>\n
\u2022 Use drugs?<\/p>\n
\u2022 Wreck the car?<\/p>\n
\u2022 Steal?<\/p>\n
\u2022 Skip school?<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t discuss such things because we don\u2019t want to be any ideas in their head,\u201d explained one parent.<\/p>\n
The ideas and temptations are all around our children. We can proactively teach, set boundaries, establish contracts and equip our children to face their temptations, or we can react to disasters that arise out of ignorance, permissiveness, and lack of preparation.
