We cannot say, \u201cDo as I say, not as I do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>God wants us to be consistent as well as truthful. Why? Because truth is consistent. The world teaches children relativism. But Scripture teaches absolute truth.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Absolute truth is universal\u2014it\u2019s true for all people and in all places.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Absolute truth is constant\u2014it\u2019s true for all times.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>To model truth, a parent has to be consistent about truth every day. The boundaries haven\u2019t changed just because it\u2019s a new day. The reality of right and wrong is just as true for parents and for children. Parents cannot lie.
