Conditional love is a controlling, manipulative love. It says, \u201cI will love you if \u2026\u201d God\u2019s love (agape) says, \u201cI will love you always.\u201d<\/p>\n
Unconditional love seeks the child\u2019s best. It is a selfless, expecting-nothing-in-return loving. When we love to get something in return, we are manipulating and trying to control a child.<\/p>\n
Unconditional love is patient. It spends whatever time is necessary to reach out to a child. It believes in the child and God\u2019s potential for that child. Unconditional love never quits or gives up.<\/p>\n
Unconditional love rejoices in the successes of a child and encourages and child when he stumbles or makes a mistake. Love refuses to believe that mistakes make a child a failure.<\/p>\n
Unconditional love isn\u2019t easily angered and doesn\u2019t provoke children to anger. It\u2019s not oversensitive or overreacting.<\/p>\n
Unconditional love rejoices in the truth and speaks the truth loving to the child.<\/p>\n
Unconditional love endures hardship, rejection, pain, and discouragement. No matter what a child does to the parent, the parent continues to love and encourage the child.<\/p>\n
Are you willing to say to your child, \u201cThere is nothing you can do to make me stop loving you!\u201d<\/p>\n
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
