When you squeeze a parent, what do you expect to come out?<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Obviously whatever is in us will come out, especially when we are under stress and pressure. Too often, the old habits and ways of our parents come out when we react to misbehaving children.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>The only way to change is to allow God to change us. In order to break with old parenting habits and destructive comments is to be changed by the power of God.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>One of the most effective ways to cut of the past and become a <i>new parent in Christ Jesus <\/i>is to pray. Pray changes us.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>The ineffective way to pray is, <i>God change my child!<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>The effective way to pray is, <i>God change me.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>When you ask God to change you, He empowers you to break old parenting habits and to begin implementing the new.
