Fasting applies our attention and focus.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Pray centers our mind on God. Fasting takes our mind off of our needs and fixes our minds on His needs.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Prayer surrenders wants. Fasting lets go of wants and cries out for what God desires.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Prayer seeks, knocks and asks. Fasting receives, opens and answers. In fasting, I deny myself physical food in order to receive spiritual food, i.e. the bread of life. In fasting, I unlock the inner chambers of my heart to open myself to all the light and revelation God wants me to have. In fasting, I cease asking God questions and I begin answering God\u2019s inquiries of me.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>In prayer, I connect with God. Prayer is like plugging in a power cord. Fasting, like turning on the switch, releases the power to change me and those around me.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Prayer takes me up from earth to heaven; fasting brings heaven to earth. Fasting empties me of earth so that heaven might fill me.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Prayer vacates my soul of self so that fasting can produce such hunger and thirst for God that nothing but God can satisfy.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Prayer digs the well. Fasting keeps the well cleaned out.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal'><b><i>Lord,<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent: 18.0pt;line-height:normal'><b><i>Give me a willingness to pray and fast, a humility to receive what that will bring, and obedience to do whatever it takes to follow Your Spirit.
