Often people admonish one another to pray for souls. Surprisingly, Jesus instructs us to pray for workers. The fact is that the souls are ready. So many are hungry for the gospel but so few are willing to make the personal sacrifice to go into the harvest. Still fewer pray for those workers to go.<\/p>\n
Why is that? We are too satisfied with minimal results. A few saved souls really excite us. Of course, every saved soul is precious to God but why not go after the whole harvest instead of just a few?<\/p>\n
Remember: harvesting is expensive. It\u2019s relatively inexpensive to sow. It\u2019s more expensive to tend the fields. But the greatest expense is in the harvest. Are you willing to pay the price and count the cost of the harvest? The first expense is this: prayer<\/i>.<\/p>\n
Prayer fills the heart of the workers with a compassion for the lost. Prayer presses the workers into an urgency to reach the lost. Prayer opens the eyes of the workers to the plight of the lost. Prayer excites the workers with the abundance of the harvest. So pray for harvest workers!<\/p>\n
