He always thinks about what we are going to be. You and I are slaves to time and space and records and reputations and publicity and the past\u2014all that we call the case history. Jesus Christ cares absolutely nothing about anyone\u2019s moral case history. He forgives it and starts from there as though the person had been born one minute before.1<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=center style='margin-bottom:9.0pt;text-align:center; line-height:normal'>\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:9.0pt;line-height:normal'>Our Lord\u2026 always begins as though there had not been a past. Behold, He makes all things new!2<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=center style='margin-bottom:9.0pt;text-align:center; line-height:normal'>\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:9.0pt;line-height:normal'>Regret for a sinful past will remain until we truly believe that for us in Christ that sinful past no longer exists. The man in Christ has only Christ\u2019s past and that is perfect and acceptable to God. In Christ he died, in Christ he rose, and in Christ he is seated within the circle of God\u2019s favored ones. He is no longer angry with himself because he is no longer self-regarding, but Christ-regarding; hence there is no place for regret.3<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=center style='margin-bottom:9.0pt;text-align:center; line-height:normal'>\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:9.0pt;line-height:normal'>It is one of the devil\u2019s oldest tricks to discourage the saints by causing them to look back at what they were. No one will make progress with God until he lifts up his eyes and stops looking at himself. We are not to spend our time looking back and looking in\u2014we are told to look forward!4<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=center style='margin-bottom:9.0pt;text-align:center; line-height:normal'>\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:9.0pt;line-height:normal'>It is God Almighty who puts eternity in a man\u2019s breast and tomorrow in a man\u2019s heart and gives His people immortality, so what you see down here really is not much. But when the bird of immortality takes to the wing, she sails on and on, over the horizon and out into the everlasting tomorrows and never comes down and never dies.5<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jesus Christ never thinks about what we have been!
