After receiving an education at Jesus College, Oxford, he practiced medicine in Brecon. Many of his best poems, such as \u201cThe Retreate,\u201d \u201cThe Sap\u201d and \u201cI walkt the other day\u201d are included in his collection entitled, <i>Silex Scintillans,<\/i> 1655.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:9.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>In his poem, <i>The Night,<\/i> Henry Vaughan wrote:<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-top:0cm;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm; margin-left:18.0pt;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;line-height:normal'>Dear Night!
