(May 23, 1707\u2013January 10, 1778), born Carl von Linn\u00e9, was a Swedish botanist and physician. He was considered the father of modern taxonomy, being the first naturalist to classify plants. He introduced the use of two Latin names, identifying genus and species, to classify all plants and animals. Many of his principles and taxonomic names are still used. His works include: Bibliotheca Botanica;<\/i> Systema Naturae,<\/i> 1735; Genera Plantarum,<\/i> 1737; and Species Plantarum,<\/i> 1753.<\/p>\n
