He took up writing and became close friends with the well-known writers of the day, John Ruskin and Lewis Carroll. Carroll first recited his stories of Alice in Wonderland<\/i> to George MacDonald\u2019s children, whose delighted response convinced Carroll to publish them. <\/p>\n
