A Harvard professor, his theory of ethics, called <i>pragmatism,<\/i> considered the distinction between truth and falsity, even in the area of religion and morals, not as important as solving problems.&#65279;2820&#65279; His works include <i>The Principles of Psychology,<\/i> 1890; <i>The Varieties of Religious Experience,<\/i> 1902; <i>Pragmatism,<\/i> 1907. Contemporary social engineering of psychological attitudes has been influenced by his thought.
